The Opportunity
As Chair of South Bank Employers’ Group, you will have the opportunity to leverage the vision, influence and capability of our world-class member organisations, partners and stakeholders to further shape and revitalize an iconic part of London.
Our Chair must be deeply committed to London South Bank and SBEG’s mission. They might, for example, already be connected to a SBEG member or another organisation local to the area. Or, they might have held a similar role in a comparable context and be motivated to bring that insight to promote SBEG’s next chapter.
The Chair will provide strategic and inspirational leadership, helping SBEG to continually raise its ambition and the expectations of what we can deliver for London’s South Bank.
A champion for SBEG and our members, the Chair will support SBEG in fostering productive relationships and partnerships, including with local, regional and national government officials, other policy makers, Jubilee Gardens Trust, South Bank BID and others.
Our Chair will help us define and enhance the benefits SBEG offers to our members and deepen the participation of our Board in defining strategy, monitoring performance and managing risk.
It is expected that the Chair will lead four Board meetings per year, alongside four Committee meetings and a broader range of public meetings and ambassadorial work on behalf of SBEG as appropriate and agreed. The overall time committed is expected to be around 20 days per year.
Remuneration for the role is set at £12,000 per year.
